Luna Luna is the world’s first and only art amusement park. Conceived in 1987 in Hamburg by artist and curator André Heller, it reimagined the traditional luna park as a fully functioning fairground created by artists. More than thirty visionaries participated, resulting in attractions such as a Keith Haring carousel, a Jean-Michel Basquiat Ferris wheel, and a Roy Lichtenstein labyrinth.
Though originally intended to tour globally, Luna Luna closed after its inaugural summer and remained in storage for thirty-five years due to legal disputes. In 2019, efforts began to revive the project, and in 2022 the park was officially rescued in collaboration with André Heller and new partners.
Today, the original works are being carefully restored, alongside the development of new interactive attractions by contemporary artists. A renewed brand strategy and visual identity were developed to bring Luna Luna into the present and support its future growth, including the creation of the Version 1.0 logo and graphic system.
